Benefits of the Ultra:
1. Some horses pivot on their hocks while getting up and spin their Hock Shields leaving their hock sores exposed.
2. It can be used for a horse has an injury further forward than the typical bed sores.
3. If a horse that has to wear a bandage, this will keep the wrap in place and prevent it from tearing.
4. It can keep the hock warmer for the horse with arthritis.
It is VERY important to get the correct size or it will not stay up. The horse owner needs to measure the smallest point just above the hock joint with the leg straight under them and the hoof flat on the ground. If there is at least a 3⁄4” overlap of Velcro, it will fit perfectly as the elastic band will stretch out some when worn for a few days. If it has to be pulled tight to get it to connect, then a larger size IS needed.
